Studio participants live in Catlett Hall on the University of Iowa’s campus. Catlett Hall, located on the shore of the Iowa River, is the University of Iowa's newest dormitory. The residence hall is equipped with student lounges, study rooms, seminar rooms, and laundry facilities. The residence hall and its surroundings are well lit. Catlett's doors are locked each night and University security officers make regular rounds of each floor. Each student room can be locked from the inside. A Residence Hall Manager is available 24 hours a day. Since our rooms in Catlett are doubles, each participant is assigned a roommate. Students fill out a questionnaire to help the Studio in choosing compatible roommates.

Catlett Market Place, located in Catlett Hall, is the newest University of Iowa dining hall, and offers a wide variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner items, including continental and hot breakfast, specialty grilled burgers and sandwiches, soups, salads, pizza, breads, and ethnic cuisine. Catlett Market Place has a dedicated dietician experienced in accommodating special dietary needs (celiac/gluten-free, allergies, vegetarian, etc).
